Story time: How to be positive all the time

Once upon a time, there was a woman named Polly who was determined to be positive all the time, no matter what. She woke up each morning and told herself, “Today is going to be a great day!” She smiled at everyone she passed on the street, even if they scowled back at her.

Polly believed that positive thinking was the key to happiness, and she was determined to share her positivity with everyone she met. She walked around with a notebook and pen, jotting down positive affirmations and inspirational quotes.

One day, Polly’s friend, Ben, came to visit her. Ben was going through a tough time and needed someone to talk to. But every time Ben tried to share his feelings, Polly interrupted him with a positive affirmation or an inspirational quote.

“Ben, don’t be sad! Happiness is just a smile away!” Polly chirped. How to be positive all the time

“But Polly, I just lost my job and I’m feeling really down,” Ben replied.

“Ah, but Ben, when one door closes, another one opens!” Polly exclaimed.

Ben tried to explain that sometimes life was just hard and that it was okay to feel negative emotions. But Polly wouldn’t hear it. She was determined to be positive all the time, even if it meant ignoring reality.

Eventually, Ben gave up and left Polly’s house feeling even worse than when he arrived. Polly, on the other hand, was still smiling, oblivious to the fact that sometimes being positive all the time can be more harmful than helpful.

The moral of the story is that while positivity is important, it’s also important to acknowledge and process negative emotions. Sometimes life can be tough, and it’s okay to feel sad, angry, or frustrated. Embracing all of our emotions, both positive and negative, is the key to true happiness and well-being.
